Accommodation:

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

  • Activities:
    • Arrive at Paro International Airport.
    • Transfer to your hotel for rest.
    • Explore Paro town, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum.

Day 2: Acclimatization and Sightseeing in Paro

  • Activities:
    • Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
    • Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery).
  • Overnight: Hotel in Paro.

Day 3: Paro to Shana (Drive and Trek Start)

  • Activities:
    • Drive from Paro to the trailhead at Shana (2,850m).
    • Start trekking towards Thangthangka.
  • Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
  • Overnight: Camping at Thangthangka.

Day 4: Thangthangka to Jangothang (Base of Jomolhari)

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Thangthangka to Jangothang (4,080m), the base camp of Mt. Jomolhari.
    • Enjoy stunning views of Mt. Jomolhari and its surrounding peaks.
  • Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
  • Overnight: Camping at Jangothang.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day at Jangothang

  • Activities:
    • Rest and acclimatize at Jangothang.
    • Optional hike to Jomolhari Glacier or nearby lakes for acclimatization.
  • Overnight: Camping at Jangothang.

Day 6: Jangothang to Lingzhi

  • Activities:
    • Cross the Nyile La Pass (4,890m) to reach Lingzhi (4,010m).
    • Enjoy panoramic views from the pass and descend into the valley.

  • Overnight: Camping in Lingzhi.

Day 7: Lingzhi to Chebisa

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Lingzhi to the charming village of Chebisa (3,880m).
    • Visit Chebisa village and its beautiful waterfall.
  • Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
  • Overnight: Camping in Chebisa.

Day 8: Chebisa to Shomuthang

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Chebisa to Shomuthang (4,250m).
    • Cross the Gombu La Pass (4,410m).
  • Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
  • Overnight: Camping at Shomuthang.

Day 9: Shomuthang to Robluthang

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Shomuthang to Robluthang (4,160m).
    • Cross the Jhari La Pass (4,700m) and descend into the valley.
  • Trekking Time: 7-8 hours
  • Overnight: Camping at Robluthang.

Day 10: Robluthang to Limithang

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Robluthang to Limithang (4,140m).
    • Cross the Sinche La Pass (5,005m), the highest point of the trek.
    • Enjoy views of Gangchhenta (Great Tiger Mountain) and other peaks.
  • Trekking Time: 7-8 hours
  • Overnight: Camping at Limithang.

Day 11: Limithang to Laya

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Limithang to the highland village of Laya (3,850m).
    • Explore the unique culture of the Layap people and their traditional attire.
  • Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
  • Overnight: Camping in Laya.

Day 12: Rest Day in Laya

  • Activities:
    • Rest and explore Laya village.
    • Interact with the local Layap people and learn about their customs and lifestyle.
  • Overnight: Camping in Laya.

Day 13: Laya to Koina

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Laya to Koina (3,050m).
    • Pass through forested areas and high pasturelands.
  • Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
  • Overnight: Camping at Koina.

Day 14: Koina to Gasa

  • Activities:
    • Trek from Koina to Gasa (2,770m).
    • Cross the Bari La Pass (3,740m).
    • Visit the Gasa hot springs for a relaxing soak.
  • Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
  • Overnight: Camping in Gasa.

Day 15: Gasa to Punakha

  • Activities:
    • Drive from Gasa to Punakha.
    • Visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful dzongs.
  • Overnight: Hotel in Punakha.

Day 16: Punakha to Thimphu

  • Activities:
    • Drive from Punakha to Thimphu.
    • En route, stop at Dochula Pass for panoramic views.
    • Explore Thimphu, visiting landmarks such as the Tashichho Dzong, Memorial Chorten, and Buddha Dordenma.
  • Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu.

Day 17: Thimphu to Paro

  • Activities:
    • Drive from Thimphu to Paro.
    • Visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest dzong in Bhutan.

Day 18: Departure from Paro
