Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

  • Arrive at Paro International Airport.
  • Meet your guide and drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
  • Check into your hotel and rest for a while.
  • In the afternoon, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a revered Buddhist stupa.
  • Explore the streets of Thimphu and visit the Craft Bazaar to see local handicrafts.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Attend the Thimphu Tshechu, held in the capital’s Tendrel Thang (festival ground).
  • Witness colorful masked dances, traditional music, and religious ceremonies.
  • Explore Tashichho Dzong, the main secretariat building which houses the throne room of the King of Bhutan.
  • Visit the Folk Heritage Museum to learn about Bhutanese culture and way of life.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Continue exploring the Thimphu Tshechu festivities.
  • Visit the Buddha Dordenma statue, a massive statue of Buddha overlooking Thimphu Valley.
  • Explore the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin.

Day 4: Thimphu – Paro

  • After breakfast, drive back to Paro.
  • Visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a historic fortress.

  • Visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.
  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 5: Paro Sightseeing and Departure

  • Hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery.
  • Explore the ruins of the ancient Drugyel Dzong.
  • Visit the National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong).
  • Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
